On 24th & 25th June, Drumglass Parish are going to cycle the 1,680 miles to Ukraine. No, it’s not quite as mad (or as dangerous) as you might first think! With the help of spin bikes in the church grounds and other locations around town, willing volunteers and would be athletes will take it in turn to cycle for an hour between midday on Friday and 4pm on Saturday, totalling 28 hours continuously! With an average cycling speed of 15mph (aren’t we hopeful?!) the distance to Ukraine should be easily covered. The final push for miles will happen during a Big Spin at Bell’s Fitness Studios at DUY Junior Stadium on Saturday 25th June, 5.30-6.30pm. There are 40 bikes available so book in your family and friends to help us finish on a high.

How can you be involved? 1) Sign up to cycle using the sheet in church, contact the office or our Facebook 2) Rattle a bucket! We’ll need people to encourage shoppers to part with their money at Market Square, Torrent Valley Nursery, and Costcutter, Moygashel. 3) Donate if you are able. Funds to be shared between the work of Samaritan’s Purse in Ukraine and the parish hall refurbishment fund. 4) Pray for the ‘cycle’ itself, but also for the witness we hope to be to the people of Dungannon and Moygashel as they pass by.
