Harvest is always one of the highlights of our church’s year. We look forward to gathering in our beautifully decorated churches to sing the lovely old Harvest hymns and celebrate God’s continued generosity. Please do invite friends and neighbours along to our special services as listed below.
St Elizabeth’s Harvest will take place this year on 9th October. At the 10 a.m. Harvest Celebration service, the preacher will be The Ven. Robert Miller, Archdeacon of Derry, while a Service of Harvest Praise will be held at 6.30 p.m.
On Monday 10th October we will welcome the Rev Ian Horner, Bishop’s Curate in Bailieborough, for our special Harvest Praise at 8 p.m. which will be followed by supper in the Church Hall. Our Sunday evening service will be for all Drumglass Parish, as there will not be an evening service in St Anne’s.
For the past two years, parishioners will remember that at St Elizabeth’s we had a “container harvest”. Many parishioners donated non-perishable goods – for example: tins of vegetables, tea, coffee and cereals, instead of flowers, fruit and vegetables. This was a resounding success and we were able to donate many items to Lite Bite. Of course there will still be flowers and vegetables etc. but let’s use this year’s harvest again to look out to the world around us and help those in need.
At St Anne’s Harvest on 16th October, we will welcome Canon James Carson, from Lower Shankill Team Ministry, to our Harvest Celebration service at 11.30 a.m. and the Rev William Anderson, from Tullanisken and Clonoe Parishes, to our 6.30 p.m. Harvest Praise Service.
Following the Sunday morning service in St Anne’s, the Catering Committee has organized a harvest lunch. If you are planning to attend, there will be sign-up sheets at the back of both churches.
The parish of Drumglass includes the churches of St. Annes, Dungannon & St. Elizabeths, Moygashel, Dungannon. Clergy at Drumglass are The Ven Andrew Forster Rector assisted by curates Rev Peter Jones and Rev Elizabeth Stevenson.
Our two churches have regular services alongside various organisations associated with the life of the church.
We are always delighted to meet visitors to our parish and we can assure you of a warm welcome.
